Chris: Candace asked me to do a favor for her. Me, being the exceptional, awesome, amazing husband I am, I dropped everything … except Jellybean … and ran to her aid. Candace will be spending the next several weeks doing everything she can to help make this year’s Advocacy Day a success (hosted by Resolve and being held in Washington DC on May 14) and thus, she needed me to take the wheel and drive the blog. As an aside, let me encourage you to participate in Advocacy Day. If you have participated in a previous Advocacy day – you should go. If you know someone that has participated in Advocacy Day – you should go. If you have not been involved with Advocacy Day before – you should go. If you have no idea what Advocacy Day is – you should go. If you do not want to advocate for policy changes to support family building with legislative representatives – you should not go. If you can’t go we totally understand, write a letter to your representative and senators and email it to us and we will hand deliver it for you! Either way break the silence for change.
Letter template here. Email here. List of your congressional leaders here.
Back on track, Candace asked me to take over for the next several weeks, what am I going to say? Oh no Candace, I better not. Shirk my responsibility? Not if I want to keep my man card intact. And with that bravado where will I take us? Well, I am going to talk about anxiety, which could be a two-fer (two week long) post. We’ll discuss the sentiment that your spouse needs to “Take care of ‘their’ dog;” a discussion of how sometimes it is easier to find a thread of separation between ourselves when things are tough. I am also going to talk about our interactions with people now that we have Jellybean and the all-to-often experience we have of hearing, “Aren’t you glad it’s all over?” Spoiler alert, aside from using contractions which is a grammar teacher’s nightmare, having a child does not remove infertility.
I don’t know Chris. It kinda doesn’t feel right with you at the helm. Too much testosterone. Well, in an effort to diminish any apprehension you may be feeling about me taking the driving seat for the next several weeks, I thought we should start out on the right foot … with a giveaway!
Enter Fairhaven Health . Aside from having damn near everything you could ever need for boosting your fertility, tracking ovulation, and tests for seeking that ever-elusive BFP, our interactions with them have been overwhelmingly positive and they truly seek to make your family building dreams a reality. After a quick check of the male fertility enhancing products they offer, I can say that I wish I would have known about these folks when I was preparing for our second stimulation cycle. I could have taken some of their products instead of looking at several standard pharmacy for less-common supplements that were suggested to us by reading various blogs and chats.
Anyway, they have graciously offered to donate a BFP Test Strip Big Bundle which includes 30 ovulation test strips and 10 early detection pregnancy tests … better start drinking water now to be able to take all of these tests. Although the price for this is beyond reasonable (for those that do not win the give-away), free is even better. So, how do you get your hands on this? Easy, just go to our give-away on Raffle Copter and complete as many tasks as you are comfortable doing. The more you do, the better your chances. Good luck and we will pick a winner soon!
