We have some exciting news to share and we hope you can join us (virtually) this Sunday, July 28th. Chris and I will be appearing on the MTV show called True Life, I’m Desperate to Have a Baby. MTV’s True Life casting producer contacted us last year after coming across our blog, to participate in an episode focused on people having issues with family building. It was terrifying at first, the thought of having our lives thrown out to wolves in public. Think about all of those Tasty Sneaker comments we already get! But, really, it is kind of a natural step beyond Blog-Land. We will fill everyone in on all of the juicy details after the show airs, but we can give you this teaser: Chris is his normal goofy self and Candace shows everyone the exact way to have an emotional reaction to a fertility med. Spoiler alert, there are no lost limbs, bar fights, or alligator wrestling. Much more to come on the show but really, check it out.
We hope that by sharing our story publicly, we can shed some light on topic of infertility and increase awareness about how infertility affects real people, everyday. The producers did a great job of capturing our story and the highest highs and the lowest lows. We hope you will enjoy it, relate to it, and react to it. Laugh with us, cry with us, and hope with us as you watch us go through our IF journey.

WHAT THE FAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Im so excited for you and to ‘see’ you! First off, Im a huge True Life fan. Ill be talking to someone about something I ‘know’ and theyll say where did you hear that? And Im all “I saw it on True Life, duh’. My husband and I dvr’ed True Life ‘Im too attractive’ the other day and then set aside time to have date night and watch it. yeahhhh. 🙂 I KNOW you will do your best to bring the pain of IF to light for people so that they can hopefully understand it better. I am out of my mind excited for you to have had this opportunity to help others learn about the world of IF. MUCH LOVE!

Thank you for your comment Rebecca. We are really adamant about making sure that the true world of IF is displayed for all to see in the episode. The producers did a great job of listening to our history, feeling our emotions, and bringing exactly that to the episode. We hope you enjoy it and finish watching it with a sense that it really was “True Life.”

I feel like I’m watching a mirror image of myself as I watch you guys’ show this afternoon. I was actually approached to do this show over a year ago and thought it was “spam” or fake… I wish I could reach out and hug you guys, because no one understands the pain of infertility like someone who has been through it. I also LOVE LOVE that you got your intralipids mailed to you!! Seriously, that opened a whole new door of possibility for us, so thank you. Tons of blessings in the future for you two.

Just watched y’alls show. My husband and I have battled IF for almost 5 years now. We decided to skip the IVF road bc my chances were only 10% at having a successful pregnancy. We are almost a year and a half waiting on our domestic adoption match. We know we will be parents and trust God on His plan just wish we knew exactly what His plan was. Thank you for putting yourselves and your story out there. Truly an inspiration! Good luck and God bless!

MRSMANN– Soooo here is the skinny on that. It is not online yet and I am not sure when the re-run will come on. SO what someone told me that they did was go on Amazon Shows and you can buy it for 1.99. I know sucks. I am hopeful that it become available soon though! FX that is.
