After many years of being in the trenches of infertility, I have poured over a countless number of journals, books, blogs and studies of all things infertility ad nauseum. (I wish I was this studious in college!) If you are experiencing fertility issues or know someone who is, you may be grasping at straws to find an answer to put the next piece in this puzzle in place, as I have found myself on several occasions. In Blogland, we each have our own super ultra-secret blog sites and websites we are personal fans of. One of my fertile favs is Melbourne Natural Fertility written by Nat Kringoudis. I recently had the pleasure of reading her new e-book cleverly named “Fertilise Yourself”. In this e-book, Nat addresses issues with diet, exercise and mental health and how they relate to improving fertility and the chances of conceiving. She tackles some common misconceptions, such as the false idea that fat in foods equals weight gain. (Tastey Cakes and HoHo binges need not apply) Who knew? In “Fertilise Yourself”, Nat focuses on fertility issues from a truly holistic viewpoint by describing the synergy between diet, mood, and fertility. She separates topics that are related to only women, only men, and both partners seeking to conceive. The book also contains great recipes that Nat has ingeniously written to a vegetarian audience. She explains that the carnivorous readers can readily incorporate any lean protein from the array of healthy options presented in earlier sections. Good thing, because this girl and guy loves anything meatastic.
Readers that stumble upon this must have tool in their fertility tool belt as I have, may be interested to know that Nat has her own practice where she specializes in Chinese and alternative medicine. She is quite the busy lady being a Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Natural Fertility Educator, Writer, Natural Health Expert and fellow Blogger. I am a frequent flyer of visiting her site. Over time, I have found it to be a mecca for great tips, recipes, and articles on helping condition your body “Rocky Balboa Style” naturally or in unison with your treatment to increase your chances. It is a perfect combo of Eastern traditional medicine explained in a Western medicine culture. I have learned a lot of valuable information that I already use in my own fertility regimen, so be sure to check out her site and e-book!
