I have been in a slump. Everyday I get through with a smile is something I am proud of. I have had some heaping plate fulls before, but seriously folks this is effing ridiculous! Here is an example of what is constantly on my mind all at one time:

Yep, that is one hell of a wordie sentence. Jumbled and complete chaos right? Welcome to my mushy brain right now. One thing about Chris and I is we are hardly ever in the muck together and at the same time. While one of us is down, the other is always up swinging. We definitely needed some levity though and time to clear that ominous cloud out the way and let some sun peek through. So we decided it was a good idea to break out our gooooooofy side. Consider yourself forewarned.
Every now and then, I feel like a “throwback” is in order. Now, I know there may be some of the youngin’s or maybe even the slightly more seasoned crowd that follow our blog. None the less we decided to do a Throwback Thursday and celebrate the 90’s. Does anyone out there recall The Fresh Prince of Bel Air? You know, Big Willie style? We were goofing around and this is what we came up with:
{In the tune of the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air}
Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I’ll tell ya how I became the queen of my feet in the air
In Eastern VA born and raised
Playin’ with my kids is how I wanted to spend my days
Fell in love, got married, time to start a fam
Tryin’ and trying, man it lost its glam
When a couple of docs, up to medical good
Suggested IVF and we said we would
I got a couple of shots and my bank account got strained
The land of miracles and dreams is where our hopes remained
We prayed and hoped day after day
But my plumbing was busted and there was no other way
We aimed for the stars, kept our feet on the ground
If our life was song it would be “Infertility’s got us down.”
Well, surgery after surgery, was there no stop
We already climbed the IF mountain, but weren’t at the top
We ain’t ever gonna stop
Not while we’re here
We kep’ on climbing and it finally became clear
My bun, her oven, that sounds real nice,
Keep her blingin’ in the freshest of maternity ice (just kidding, surro bucks don’t permit ice purchases)
If anything we could say we are real blessed
Hopefully our lives will be changed with the results of her test!
Future is past in the blink of an eye
With our surro, we hope the weeks ahead will fly by
We were given a chance
Happy to sit this one out
The queen of my feet in the air is ready for this, no doubt.
Oh the 90’s! Go ahead you know you want to take a walk down memory lane…

This is pretty much my favourite. You rock!
(Seriously, I have no idea why I haven’t commented before, but I totally love your attitude.)
